VIEWS & SHEETS

Visibility.

A pane that toggles the active view's six visibility groups — categories, links, DWG, worksets, point clouds and the section box — without opening V/G.

01 · THE PROBLEM

The six visibility groups people toggle most — categories, links, DWG, worksets, point clouds, the section box — don't live in one place in stock Revit. Categories, links, DWG and worksets sit on four different tabs of the same Visibility/Graphics dialog, while the section box only exists on the 3D view's Properties palette.

6 tab

Each group sits on its own V/G tab

Model Categories, Imported Categories, Revit Links and Worksets are four of the six tabs in that same V/G dialog — switching between categories and worksets means switching tabs, not one click.

modal

The dialog blocks everything else while open

Visibility/Graphics Overrides is a modal dialog — nothing else on the canvas is clickable while it's open, so comparing three different visibility combinations means Apply, OK, reopen, three times over.

khác dialog

The section box isn't part of V/G

The 3D view's section box only toggles from the Properties palette, entirely separate from V/G — forget that and you'll think every extra layer is hidden while the section box is still sitting there.

0 preset

No way to save a familiar combination

Getting back to last week's exact combination — links hidden, point cloud shown, structural workset off — means remembering and re-toggling each item by hand; stock Revit has no concept of a saved visibility preset.

02 · FEATURES

What it does

BlinkC Category Visibility is the closest free add-in — it bundles category, CAD and Revit-link toggles into one pane, with five save-and-recall preset buttons (A–E). But it doesn't cover worksets, point clouds or the section box, it installs through its own installer outside the Autodesk App Store, and its own documentation flags a bug where arrow-key nudging clashes with the selection list in any Revit UI language other than English, German, French or Italian — Vietnamese isn't on that list. Visibility packs all six of the groups people actually toggle into one pane:

A

Fast toggles

  • Six groups on an icon row — one click switches group
  • A checkbox tree that applies instantly — no Apply button
  • Save per-project presets to recall a familiar state
