Flip the draw layer
- Applies to every CAD link in the active view
- One click, no window
- Other views are unaffected
Flip every CAD link in the active view between foreground and background with one button.
Draw layer is a per-view property of each CAD link — fixing it in one view does nothing for any other view sharing the same backdrop drawing. The Foreground/Background toggle on the Options Bar only appears when the CAD was imported the right way, so most of the time flipping the draw layer turns into a repetitive manual chore.
Draw layer is a per-view property — fix the level 1 plan and the level 2 plan, a section, or a 3D view sharing the same backdrop drawing still holds the old value. A project referencing the CAD in 10 views means repeating the fix 10 times.
You have to Ctrl+click every CAD link visible in the view, open Properties, and scroll down to the Graphics section before the Draw Layer row even appears — miss one link and it quietly keeps its old layer.
The Options Bar's Foreground/Background control only shows up for CAD imported as 'current view only' — anything else means hunting down the Draw Layer row in Properties, with no shortcut left.
No add-in on the Autodesk App Store handles just this — native Revit only offers the Options Bar toggle (and only when the CAD was imported as 'current view only'), or a scroll down to the Graphics section in Properties, one link, one view at a time. Toggle CAD packs that into a single button that applies to every CAD link in the active view:
The interface is matched to the tool window running in Revit.
Manage every Revit, CAD and IFC link: paths, coordinates, worksets and load state — edited in bulk in one grid.
Audit and manage every CAD import in the project — search, filter, colour by layer, pin, delete, re-import.
Link many CAD, RVT or IFC files at once — coordinate mode and workset preset for the batch.
