Merge Beam / Slab.

Merge collinear beams or adjacent slabs of the same type into a single element — and un-merge when you need to.

01 · THE PROBLEM

Beams and slabs built along a grid, or imported from CAD, often fragment into many small adjacent segments. Join Geometry only removes the visible seam between them — inside Revit they're still two separate elements — and actually merging them means deleting and redrawing by hand, with no way back if the merge turns out wrong.

Join only resolves the visible overlap between two elements — both still exist independently in the model, so the quantity schedule and tag count still read them as two separate items.

Actually merging means deleting and redrawing by hand

To end up with one true long element instead of several short ones, the only native path is deleting the old segments and redrawing a new beam or slab at the right length, type and elevation — repeated for every group that needs merging.

A manual merge erases the original boundaries for good

Once the pieces are deleted and rebuilt as one element, Revit no longer remembers where the original segments were. If the design later needs to split them back apart, there's no way to restore them except modeling from scratch again.

Auto-generated slabs fragment into dozens of small adjacent pieces

Slabs modeled per grid bay, or traced from an imported CAD boundary, often end up as dozens of same-type adjacent pieces instead of one continuous slab — manually merging boundary by boundary is not a task anyone wants to repeat.

02 · FEATURES

What it does

Join Geometry Pro, Auto Join and Magic Join on the App Store only remove the visible seam between two overlapping elements — Revit still counts them as two, still two rows in the quantity schedule. Merge Beam/Slab actually combines them into a single element, with a way back:
