CAD & LINKS

Link More.

Link many CAD, RVT or IFC files into the project at once, with the coordinate mode and workset set for the whole batch.

01 · THE PROBLEM

Link CAD, Link Revit and Link IFC are three separate commands on the Insert tab, and each one accepts exactly one file before the dialog closes. Linking a batch of per-level or per-discipline backdrop drawings means reopening that same dialog again and again, re-picking positioning and workset every time.

Every dialog trip takes exactly one file

Link CAD, Link Revit and Link IFC are three separate commands under Insert, each accepting one file before the dialog closes — linking 15 per-level backdrop drawings means reopening that same dialog 15 times.

Coordinates and worksets drift between links

Every re-opened dialog is a fresh chance to forget the positioning mode or skip the workset — 20 links from 20 separate manual picks usually end up with a few drifting from the project standard unnoticed.

30–45 phút

Prepping a batch of links burns half a morning

Pick the file, set positioning, assign the workset, click Open — repeat that for the few dozen backdrop drawings of a multi-storey project and half a morning is gone just linking, before any checking starts.

02 · FEATURES

What it does

Manage Batch Links on the Autodesk App Store already solves exactly this for one file type — browse multiple files, set a shared workset and positioning, then Add Links once. Batch Link Models does the same specifically for Revit files. Both stop at a single format. Link More folds CAD, RVT and IFC into the same file picker, with one coordinate mode and workset for the whole batch:

Batch linking

  • Select many files at once and link them all
  • One coordinate mode for the whole batch
  • Assign the workset at link time
