A pane to toggle rebar and rebar hosts on the active view — ticking applies instantly, and switching views re-reads the state automatically.
Toggling rebar on a structural drawing still goes through Visibility/Graphics: open the dialog, hunt for the right sub-category, tick it, click OK — and repeat on every new view because Revit doesn't remember the context, with no way to filter down to a single element or rebar style.
Open Visibility/Graphics, switch to the Model Categories tab, expand Structural Rebar, tick or untick, click OK — the whole sequence repeats every time rebar needs to be shown or hidden, and starts over on the next view.
Visibility/Graphics only switches the whole Structural Rebar category on or off — to see a column's rebar while hiding the beams', or to separate stirrup-ties from main bars, elements have to be picked one by one with Temporary Isolate.
Per Autodesk's own documentation, the native Rebar Visibility command only works from a 3D view — checking rebar on a structural plan or section, where engineers actually review it, falls back to the blunt category toggle in Visibility/Graphics.
VG overrides belong to each view individually — reviewing rebar across dozens of floor plans means re-toggling by hand on every one, and missing a single view means a wrong print nobody notices.
A similar add-in on the Autodesk App Store runs into the same wall: Visibility Rebar In View ($5, capped at Revit 2020) only works from a 3D view and offers just four hard-coded groups — concrete hosts, individual bars, the whole view, or the whole model — with no filter by category or rebar style. Rebar Visibility works on any active view, filters by category, host element and rebar style, and re-reads its state automatically on every view switch:
