Batch upgrade
- Pick a whole folder or a file list
- Runs sequentially with progress and mid-run cancel
- Per-file log: success, warning or failure
Upgrade a whole folder of Revit files to a new version in one pass, with progress and a log of what failed.
Upgrading a folder of Revit files to a new version is still manual work: open each file, wait for Revit to convert it, Save As to the right place, close it, then move to the next. There's no way to know which file will fail until Revit freezes or reports it's corrupt mid-open, and if the session gets interrupted nobody remembers how far through a few hundred files they'd gotten.
Revit has no native batch-upgrade command — every file has to be opened by hand, waited through the version-convert progress bar, saved to the right folder, then closed before the next one opens.
Old files with broken worksharing, missing families or quiet corruption only reveal themselves when Revit hangs or errors out mid-open — there's no way to screen a whole batch beforehand.
Manual upgrades leave no trail — in a folder of a few hundred files, an interruption means nobody knows which ones are already upgraded without reopening each one to check its version.
There's no background mode and no "apply to all" — the machine has to sit and be watched the entire time, with nothing else getting done while a few hundred files convert.
Batch-upgrade add-ins aren't hard to find on the Autodesk App Store, but each has a catch: CCupgrader stops at Revit 2023, Bulk File Upgrader only runs on Revit 2024–2026, and Bulk Upgrader's own listing excludes workshared models from what it can process. Batch Upgrader takes a whole folder or a hand-picked file list into one window, runs it sequentially with progress, and logs each file individually so it's clear exactly what succeeded and what failed:

Purge dead views, empty groups, unused families and leftover CAD imports — shrink the file before you issue.
Audit usage and duplicates; safely create, edit, duplicate, merge and delete Object, Line, Text, Dimension, Viewport and Scope Box styles. The AI assistant and account-saved presets only queue changes — you press Apply yourself.
